Artist's description:

I used to make cards, with drawings of a whole host of oddball characters, from the quirky to the downright dark. The pictures were always accompanied by a caption that either commented on the image, or was said by the person in the picture. Often I got my inspiration for the images from things I would hear when I was on my travels around town. There's nothing like a bit of eavesdropping to spark the imagination. The words came first and the images evolved from what I had heard or seen. It occurred to me that the some of the images on the cards would make great and unusual mosaic wall panels. "I don't want a girlfriend . . ." works so well in mirror and glass and I have captured the image I drew on the card very accurately.

Materials used:

Coloured mirror and glass, MDF, solvent free glue, grout.

"I don't want a girlfriend . . . " (2007)
