Artist's description:

Far out in solar system space, beyond the orbit of Saturn, an astronaut conducts extravehicular activity ( EVA ) looking back at a bright, but distant, sun as it lights the crescent of Saturn.

No humans have yet ventured anywhere close to the dark side of Saturn space, the Cassini-Huygens probe has given us a huge amount of recent data and imagery of nearly everyone's favourite planet. Any EVA as part of a manned mission would have to limit the exposure to Saturn's impressive magnetosphere which is only second to Jupiter's.

As a space artist I can still go where the camera can't - what a treasured view for someone in our future.

A Certificate of Authenticity is supplied with all my paintings, in addition to being signed on the front there is always a written description, signature and date completed on the back.
