This work is part of a series called "Ghost Town", all showing parts of London where people have disappeared, and where nature takes an unfamiliar and eery appearance. In our urban and modern society, we are surrounded by constant communication, and cross other people's path constantly but somehow we can feel isolated and lonely. We have also lost contact with whom we really are, our true nature. This series of work explores this issue. Crossing Over is a print made with two plates, a photopolymer plate and an aquatint plate. I chose this technique to give the image an atemporal feel. The original photograph was taken on the canal, below the bridge between the bottom of Primrose Hill and Regents Park, on a beautiful day after it had snowed all night. I turned it into a night image. There are two versions of it, and Ice Blue version and a purple version. Both are available.
