Artist's description:

The second in an on-going series of works, (CM_001 is in a private collection) mostly paintings, but also sculptures and installations, inspired by RFID tags, which are found everywhere, in books and records to prevent theft, in clothing to identify brands and brand loyalty, and generally, to track merchandise and even people. The tags resemble labyrinths in their form, or perhaps the raked form of gravel in Zen gardens, and also geometric abstract paintings from the 1950s and 1960s. But they have predominantly to do with surveillance and social ordering. These works are done collaboratively with Seetha A - the other half of Moorland Productions, which is the umbrella name for our collaborative practice, begun in 1996. We each have our own practices, but our collaborations permit us to do different types of work, benefitting from each other's inputs.
