Artist's description:

In the Foredown Tower at Portslade is a hidden treasure, a camera lucida. You can stand high up in this chamber and survey the world around you reflected (and distorted) by a giant lens. This tiny piece gives an impression of what you can see. It has a strange mystery.

One of a series, Brighton Glimpses, made on reclaimed cedar blocks with acrylic paints, pigments and ilver leaf. Little intimate moments and scenes from a seaside town - some well-known places, others hidden corners.

I'll be making these pieces periodically and on commission. They're simply framed in white-washed wood. Each would make a good small gift on its own. But ideally they hang in groups, maybe of three or five or more. so I've made the price as accessible as possible to encourage you to buy more than one!

Materials used:

Cedarwood block, acrylics, silver leaf
