Artist's description:

This linocut was inspired by a visit to the covered market in Oxford. I was shopping and happened to glance upwards at the roof - I was immediately struck by the colour, the lines and the old fashioned lanterns.
Luckily for me I had my camera with me and took several shots upwards trying to capture the details. Just as I was leaving I took a picture of this view down Avenue 4 towards the High Street and I knew instantly that I wanted to reproduce it in Lino.
The reduced palette of colours used here, really helps accentuate the colour of the roof which is a strange peachy teracotta colour!
The print in the picture is numbered 4/16 The actual print you receive may be any in the numbered edition.

Materials used:

Schmincke water-based inks on Fabriano Rosaspina paper

Avenue 4 Covered Market, Oxford (2017)
