Artist's description:

After an alfresco sketching session in the village of Olargues in the south of France (one of the Plus beau villages de France) I returned to my studio to work from the sketches and abstract the images somewhat. The piece contains the elements that attracted me to sketch at the corner of this narrow alley - the shabby facades with faded layers of paint and old advertising, the fresh strong coloured shutters, the area that caught a bit of the strong sunlight of a wonderful day.
This little canvas can be hung framed or unframed as you wish, as per usual I initial the front of my work and sign the back. I have not finished the sides of the canvas, it adds to the shabby chic quality of the subject matter!

Materials used:

Acrylic paint and indian ink

Alley, Olargues (2016)
