Artist's description:

Living with the enemy is something that affects us all, in this work, the enemy is the Tsunami to the Island folk as is the volcano on the island. The fish has been thrown out of the water, and is in danger of being baked by the midday sun. So for fishy, the glorious sun is the enemy. There is a sniper in the grasses who has his back to the Tsunami so is in danger of being swept out to sea. The island itself, appearing to have a mouth with the cottages as teeth. The island could in fact devour itself by activating the volcano. ... And we worry about man made dangers.............. Nature is the most powerful friend or enemy on this earth. We assume it is our friend, but like all good friends, it could turn on us at any moment. This canvas has some tiny scuffs on the outside corners of the canvas, so will need to be framed, however, the back is already hessian covered and strung ready for hanging.
