"Turquoise & Teal Raku - Framed, 2014" by Terri Deskins

“My "Raku" series incorporates my love of raku pottery, my fascination of Japanese Kanji symbols, and my passion in woodworking. I use texture that resembles raku pottery; thin pieces of wood to form parts of Kanji symbols; and deeply saturated colour. This piece has deep blues, turquoise, and teal.”

"On a sunny day, 2016" by Lana Frey

Our regular daily life is a diverse mix of different feelings and emotions. Love, joy, desire, sadness and many others - all of them I try to catch and then express through colours and balanced harmonious forms. I use a palette knife and try to capture them in fast large strokes so I do not lose the feelings and visions they have brought. I never plan ahead colour variations and shades and I do not sketch faces since sketches are useless with very thick layers of paint. For me these paintings are a live spontaneous process and clean improvisation.

"Paris Night Lovers, 2016" by Wadih Maalouf

"Mars Bar, 2014" by Peter Slade

"A number of mars bars were consumed during the process of getting the "bite" to look right for the painting!"

"Orion Nebula, 2015" by Angela Dierks

"An atmospheric, dreamy abstract oil painting inspired by the beauty of our universe. The nebula are the middle star in the constellation of Orion. Throughout human history there have been many myths spun around the nebula; the Mayans for example referred to the nebula in their creation story. I was drawn to the beautiful colours and the ephemeral quality of the nebula as well as their sense of mystery."

"The Sake of Demeter, 2015" by Gallery62x

"This painting series, Myths, is a body of work which is modern, allegorical, and timeless. It is an artwork based loosely on ancient myths and legends that evoke an expressive power, without relying on figurative suggestions. Color fields are boldly known for their primordial essence, which makes them the perfect basis for such a mythic art. These artworks serve in part as a mechanism to empower communication between the mind of the artist, and the imagination of the viewer."

"Nightfall, 2016" by Peter Corr

"This acrylic painting called 'Nightfall' belongs to a set of 10 semi abstract images that I am working on called 'The Light Series'. They represent a personal response to the landscape of the East Anglian Fenlands and are focused almost exclusively on the changing qualities of light and atmospheric conditions; different times of the day and times of year can be seen in each work. The Fenlands consist of a patchwork of reclaimed land, reed marshes, meandering rivers and 'arrow straight' man made waterways. It may be difficult to see the numerous soft layers of colour in these photographic records, the final image is a product of successive layers or glaze applied quite heavily and then erased to reveal subtle veils of colour."

"N48.289 W40.903 D2651 Aft window Upper deck, 2016" by Ronald van den Boogaard

"Most of the time there is an idea when starting a new work. They may come from all over; a sentence, a view in the street, a song lyric, a previous artwork. It can be anything. This piece however, here was none. A doodle that turned into part of the edge. Which grew. Then shapes started to emerge. But I still did not know where it was going. The outer edges filled with details. And then. At the very last, the "divers" presented themselves and it all came together. No idea. No meaning. An organically grown piece of which I still have no idea where it came from." Shellack ink and bistre, the moot of burnt nutshells on heavyweight paper. The biste in the center part was applied in thin layers consisting of four colours.

"Being Home at Sunrise" by Sandra Roeken

“Early morning in the beautiful fishing harbour of Greetsiel at the German North Sea. The best time to be there - to feel the magic of this wonderful place. I love these moments, I can taste the sea, everything is peaceful. Time for myself, time to enjoy. Watching the scenery is balm for the soul. I can't wait to be back again here next summer - can't wait to capture moments like this with my camera again.”

"Dreamscape, 2014" by Anthony Lusignan

“Although all my artworks are a result of inspiration and imagination, this particular painting is one of the handful of paintings that I have created as a result of a dream of mine. I awoke in the middle of the night after having a lucid dream and began to sketch myself near an old abandoned cabin somewhere in the mountains. I was watching the northern lights, the swishing and cracking of the Aurora Borealis sounded like whispers calling to me. I felt like I could reach up and touch the sky. I reached up to the lights and they would reach to me.”
