"Still life - Old bottle collection, 2016" by Damien Venditti

“When I was a child, my Dad, as part of a vintage bottle club, would go on digs on old sites around Western Australia. Some bottles rare, some bottles just well preserved and great for display. These ones were chosen for the way their colour balanced. The bottle in the centre is just like the only bottle I ever found, when I went with him. I later found out, while I was running around playing, my Dad found the bottle, buried it, then called me over to dig to make the discovery.”

"Matador (self portret), 2016" by Igor Shulman

“This boy reminds me of me. At his age, I was the same, playing with cows in a bullfight. In this picture, I replaced the cow with a rhino cow to enhance the drama of the image.”

"Warm Night Romance, 2016" by Wadih Maalouf

“A painting showing a warm atmosphere of romance of two lovers at night . The strong light of the Eiffel tower with the contrast between light and dark show the concept clearly. It's like the tower is gathering these two people together and fills them with a beautiful feeling”

"A Mother's Love, 2012" by Anne Gournay

"A Mother Elephant is giving a cuddle to her elephant cub. This is a close-up portrait of their faces. I made this print for my youngest daughter when she was 3. She loved wild animals, was a big fan of Planet Earth, and I thought it would be a nice and reassuring image to put in her bedroom. It took me such a long time to make the plate for this print! I used almost all possible techniques to etch it: soft ground (to get the texture of the elephant skin), hard ground (lines), soft ground again (shadows), and Aquatint."

"Tropics, 2016" by Isabelle Vobmann

“This painting is tropical inspired. It is painted with a palette knife in a free impressionist style. It is rich in color and movement and provides warmth and abundance typical of tropical coastlines. This painting is made for those who love the lively and expressive painting. Its contrasting hues and original composition gives it great presence and a high decorative value.”

"Out of this World (Large Painting), 2016" by Mel Graham

“Inspired by the recent photos that astronaut Tim Peake has taken from the Space Station, I just had to paint my take on it. The awe-inspiring colours of space. This is large format, full of energy, and intensity. "Art washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life." Picasso”

"Sweet Spring Meadow, 2016" by Charlotte Anna Reed HAPPY ART

“To me, there is nothing more satisfying than placing a fresh, blank canvas on my easel and letting my imagination flitter away to all the possible ideas and creations my painting could be. That unknowing feeling is something which really excites me, and hopefully comes across in my art work. I like using a vibrant colour palette and a mixture of media. Ink, oil and acrylic are my personal favourites, where I can use them to build texture and depth to the composition. May it brighten up your days.”
