“A muted world, a land that was once full of life, but is now a faded memory. A Lost World.”

“A muted world, a land that was once full of life, but is now a faded memory. A Lost World.”
“I enjoy painting landscapes because they are constantly changing. Depending on the time of day, the exact same scene will convey a host of different emotions. Landscapes are also familiar to all of us, no matter what our location. It could be the clouds in the sky, the shape of the trees or colors of the foliage or water that can bring about a nostalgia in any one of us; a universal connection. I painted this piece from an image that I snapped along a road not far from my home. I am constantly taking pictures of the landscape around me for possible paintings, always trying to record in the image, the potential painting I see at that moment. I seemed to have caught this ever changing sky just at the right time.”
“This painting is the first of a series of paintings of characters emerging from the forest. It further explores the ''Tahitian Convicts in the jungle'' thematic which brings together an abstract idea of a tropical jungle like landscape with characters inspired by the Pitcairn, Mutineer and Tahitian ancestry of the Pitcairn people on Norfolk Islands, and of the convict history on the island. These paintings are also inspired by my own early childhood in Papua New Guinea, and my memories of seeing locals emerge from the forest as we would drive up into the highlands.”
“Illuminate your life with sunny and warm colours before winter will come with short days and long nights. Brilliant yellow contrasting with a cool blue and green seems flowing and untamed. That's why I called it "Wildthing". The longer and closer you look at it you will see a vivid rhythm similar to a symphony with well balanced parts of dissonance and harmony.”
“French Bulldogs, commonly named Frenchies, are unlikely stars. These piglet-bellied, googly-eyed, bat-eared, lolling-tongued creatures look like a five-minutes-to-closing trolley dash around the dog part store. But the whole is definitely lovelier than the sum of its parts. You see them everywhere, outside cool cafés and city parks, snuggled into little coats or snoring quietly in their baskets in the corners of smart boutiques. They sit on the chicest laps and attend the glitziest parties. The French bulldog is defintely fashion.”
“Under the pale ash of October clouds, a coal of Sun is still sizzling, last glimmers of light, mutation of the equinoxes.”
“I have always been bewitched by optical illusions in works of art, especially in ancient engravings. Famous artists liked to cipher a mystical image of a skull in their works too; my favorite picture is "The Ambassadors" by Hans Holbein the Younger. I have given in to mysticism too and have created this work where two young girls are reading the tarot cards, creating illusion of an ominous skull.”
“"Dancing with an imaginary man" has become a series which I return to time and again: this latest image is a watercolour and gouache painting of a woman wearing a golden, red and white transparent swirling dress, imagining her beloved. I love painting this theme; here he is a shadow accompanying her in a moonlit and starlit landscape with twin trees on the horizon which mirror the couple's companionship.”
“This work, clear and fresh, radiates the heat and brightness of a summer's day in the Alps. It is rich in realism and colour, depicting a street in Lichtenstein's capital of Vaduz.”
“This painting is part of a series called "Secret Garden." At one point, after painting landscapes of all kinds, I decided to approach the subject leaving the overall vision to dedicate myself to the particular. What interests me in this series of works is the intimate perception of things, intangible details, colors unnoticeable if not zooming to the maximum. It is a backward procedure to achieve an abstract view of nature.”
