"Shapes and Surfaces, 2016" by Mila Moroko

“The sumptuous colors and intriguing combination of lines and forms makes this artwork intriguing. I encourage the viewer to draw from their imagination, whether they see faces, forms or a particular feeling.”

"CALM AND FURY - Contradicted Figures - Large size 38 x 46 cm, 2016" by Wadih Maalouf

“This painting is based on contradiction in figures related to human characters. The idea is to show a technical way to represent two opposite sides of two faces. The first one the left is a calm face representing the moment of peace and tranquility and the second on the right of the picture is a furious appearance which means moment of stress and anger.”

"Mill of silence, 2016" by Filothei Croonen

“Sometimes the most unexpected result comes on the least expected of days. Art expresses your feelings, ideas, inner thoughts, dreams. It can show a lot about how one feels, thinks, what someone wants or wishes. 'Mill of silence' represents a silence that always has a lot to say.”

"Longing..." by Sandra Roeken

“Autumn is my favourite season. I am fascinated and captured by misty landscapes, particularly misty forest scenes. There is something magical, it is so quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed working with the photo, playing with the colours of the leaves.”

"Rainy Day in New York, 2016" by Adriana Dziuba

“This is just one of many everyday scenes of atmospheric New York in the rain. I love the way the traffic lights of the busy city reflect in the wet road surface and I find it really beautiful and charming.”

"Wild Things, 2016" by Deleted Artist

“With this painting I set out to create a rich and full scenery. In the foreground I painted natural shapes to create a familiar setting while in the background I let my imagination run free exploring abstract shapes and colors, a magical flight in to the wild.”

"Freddo (large abstract), 2016" by Kellie Schofield

“When I came across the idea of a 'Kindness' Advent Calendar - one where instead of getting a chocolate each day, you do a small kindness for somebody each day - I knew I had to try it, and so I've baked cakes, made charitable donations and done little favours for friends. Today's instruction was to be kind to myself, so I spent the day painting! And finished this one. It's winter white, with greys, mauves and golds. Perfect for December.”

"Intention, 2016" by Lana Frey

“Our daily life is full of different feelings and emotions. I try to catch and later voice them with my palette knife and vibrant colors. I love this technique of large fast strokes because it helps me to quickly express captured visions in my paintings. I give main focus to the eyes for they are are the site of the most concentrated feelings.”

"In search for the Paradise Parrot, 2015" by Ed Schimmel

“In my free time I like to walk in the woods and watch the beautiful birds of Australia. And recently I read the story of the Paradise Parrot in A.H Chrisholm's "Mateship with Birds". In 1928 one of the most beautiful parrots of Australia became extinct. Nobody understood how this could happen, but all of a sudden they were no longer there. Up to the present day people are desperately searching for the long lost Paradise Parrot. This print pictures the hope that a lot of bird watchers still have. Maybe the Paradise Parrot is still alive somewhere in the vast desert.”
