"Exploring the beauty - small size - deep edges canvas - 20X20 cm, 2016" by Fabienne Monestier

“This small painting combines the effect of transparent and transluscent matter, pearlescent pigments and purely decorative forms. A magnificent evocation of a rose, the most sophisticated flower, accompanied by decorative indian patterns and imaginary silvered grey foliage... I am heavily influenced by European decorative patterns found in historic places - rococo style, baroque and so on. I seek to reinvent their abstract patterns, exploring how to give them a new and contemporary reality.”

"Trio, 2016" by Regina Valluzzi

“'Trio' is inspired by the moody landscapes of Austrian painter Egon Schiele. I have always admired the mood and color subtleties in his landscape paintings. I sought to create an homage rather than copying Schiele's style, by borrowing several ideas - the color scheme, mood, level of abstraction and trees in silhouette. The change of media, from his acrylic painting to my marker and pen work, completely changes how the colors and imagery work. My homage is more open and panoramic and also more finely detailed than his highly textured and intimate paintings.”

"Untitled #177 - Limited Edition Canvas Print, 2016" by Rich Ray Art

“This piece shows another side to the human condition. She is beautiful, but also sensitive and fragile, a very vulnerable person. It is this that draws me in.”

"Take it now, 2016" by Maria Paunova

“This painting is my latest challenge and deals with the theme of temptation, with the apple reminding us of the forbidden fruit. My aim is always to promote deep thinking and positivity and I have achieved this with bright, naturalistic details combined with broad, energetic strokes.”

"Warm light... 2016" by Cristina Mihailescu

“'Painting is the silence of thought and the music of sight' - Orhan Pamuk. This is the feeling that I wanted to create with this charming still life study full of color, light, music and love...”

"Spring stream 5 - Awakening, 15x30x1.5'', 2016" by Alexander Koltakov

“It is not yet spring, but our thoughts usually run much ahead of us - our feelings, our expectations turn towards the warm, bright sun, which thaws the snow fields and starts the eternal life cycle anew. I called my piece "Awakening", as we always make associations between us and Mother Nature, who is waking up from her long, cold winter dream and takes deep warm breaths, thawing ice and streaming water brooks between still-frozen banks. Spring is knocking on the door...”

"BETRAYAL, 2013" by Ann Supan

“I created this piece as I felt compelled to express what I feel at that moment of creation- anger, sadness, betrayal, vengeful. If you have ever been betrayed - I dedicate this piece to you.”

"The Other Side of the Wall, 2015" by Rosalind Roberts

“This artwork was among the runners up of the Liquitex competition based on muted colours. I love to create atmosphere and feeling using just colour and a few brushstrokes. "The Other Side of the Wall" is meant to transmit serenity and peace as opposed to the aggression and violence that surrounds us today.”

"Skylish (Original artwork by Natalia Marinych), 2016" by Natalia Marinych

“The sky follows us everywhere, gives us space. From the beginning of time it has been a natural ceiling for all of us. Sometimes this ceiling gives us a free shower, it gives us life. I'm fascinated by the way that it changes - colorless on a rainy day, rich orange at sunset, dusky pink at sunrise. Skies represent freedom, that instant feeling of happiness. Of being, in my words, “Skylish”.”

"Hidden under your Love - Large FIGURE Palette Knife Painting 100x70cm, 2016" by Danijela Dan

“For this piece, I was inspired by love and the warmth it gives us. I used cold, mint pastel tones to contrast with the warm glow of the red umbrella that symbolises love. Love is peace, makes us feel cared for, even when we are alone.”
