    I very much enjoyed the 30 minute painting challenge to create a painting that is then auctioned to raise funds for the NP-UK charity as part of the 25 year anniversary celebrations of 'The Colour Factory' in Winchester. The lady that bought this painting named it 'Southern Trees' as she said it reminder her of holidays in Provence...well the wine was flowing well!

    I had a fantastic week last week at the excellent West Dean College as a student on a course exploring Contemporary painting led by the inspirational artist and educator Steve Humble. It was just great to have the time to immerse myself in the iconic chalk Downland landscape setting of the College and to be challenged in my painting responses. I feel that I learned a great deal and have developed further as an artist.

    I have had a great time painting 'Plein Air at the meadows at St Cross in Winchester recently. I pitched myself next to the public footpath. This suits me as I enjoy talking with the walkers and it is all part of the experience for me.

    I feel that I have been liberated to experiment with a freer more abstract painting style this weekend. After 34 years, Friday was my last day of employment as a Landscape Architect working in Local Government. I have founded a creative arts and landscape consultancy which will be the vehicle for my work as an artist , landscape architect and urban designer. check out peopleplacenature co uk I am looking forward to working with my favourite creative people on some great projects to benefit people and nature and to enhance places and I am particularly excited about having more time freedom to pursue my passion for painting!!
