    I had a great day last week painting 'Plein Air' on the Avington Park Estate near Winchester in Hampshire. I am really enjoying having more time freedom to paint outside in the field this year.

    This week I have 35 original paintings on exhibition and for sale as part of the 'Natural Perception' exhibition at the Yellow Edge Gallery at Gosport, Hampshire.     I very much enjoyed the 30 minute painting challenge to create a painting that is then auctioned to raise funds for the NP-UK charity as part of the 25 year anniversary celebrations of 'The Colour Factory' in Winchester. The lady that bought this painting named it 'Southern Trees' as she said it reminder her of holidays in Provence...well the wine was flowing well!

    I had a fantastic week last week at the excellent West Dean College as a student on a course exploring Contemporary painting led by the inspirational artist and educator Steve Humble. It was just great to have the time to immerse myself in the iconic chalk Downland landscape setting of the College and to be challenged in my painting responses. I feel that I learned a great deal and have developed further as an artist.

    'Plein Air' painting at St Cross, Winchester

    I have had a great time painting 'Plein Air at the meadows at St Cross in Winchester recently. I pitched myself next to the public footpath. This suits me as I enjoy talking with the walkers and it is all part of the experience for me.
