Original artwork description:

I found this quiet corner on the Route de Vin along the Moselle river in Luxembourg and found the constellation of the group of houses with the church tower against the backdrop of the vineyards a pleasing composition to paint. It was the first afternoon of the year early in March that I was able to paint outdoors and so it was a highlight for me! I have used colour very sparingly – just very palegreens contrasted with browns with lots of white to convey the brightness of the spring sunshine as the land awakens from the winter.

Materials used:

Watercolor paper, Windsor & Newton watercolour paints
