Artist's description:

The mystical Isle of Mull on the west coast of Scotland. A tiny fishing boat under a dark brooding Scottish sky. Subtle shades of grey, charcoal and blue contrast with the ochre yellow beach.

Digital collage can mean any form of collage assembled or created using a computer. Cath's process starts off on location where she takes digital photographs of the landscape. Back in the studio Cath uses a computer to blend the landscape photography with sections of additional photographs to add texture, colour and depth. These "textures" can be photographs of painting or mixed media or photographs and scans of surfaces such as rocks, peeling paint, scratched metal, rust, fabric, old paper....all sorts of unusual things. Each finished piece might have between 10 and 20 layers of collage in addition to the original landscape photograph.

Because the collage components are assembled digitally, no physical originals exist. All my work available on artfinder are high quality signed and numbered Giclee pigment ink prints produced on fine art archival papers or on canvas.

Materials used:

Digital print on canvas. Gallery wrapped, stretched and ready to hang.
