A mixed media piece made in my usual mix of working very loosely and in an unplanned way at first and then honing in on ideas and motifs that I develop more consciously into the finished piece. The text here is part of a larger text I wrote in a stream-of-consciousness style of automatic writing - a process that I find throws up all kinds of unusual ideas that the conscious mind would reject. The overall effect created here seems to me to capture something of the innocence and enthusiasm of childhood, although that is only one way of interpreting it.
The base material used is a sample card that previously contained pieces of fabric, which adds the unique texture that can be glimpsed beneath the finished image.
The picture is sold mounted but unframed.
