Artist's description:

Spending Easter at my sister´s home on the beautiful Isle of Skye, I painted this view from her garden and not for the first time! However, the focus this time is on the lovely daffodils in one corner, protected by the typical sheep fence that surrounds the garden since, my sister tells, me, otherwise everything in the garden gets eaten! I loved the bold yellow of the daffodils against the otherwise muted tones of this rough northern landscape in springtime with the blustery clouds skudding across the landscape creating moving shadows.
This is a plein air painting, done with great artistic dedication under cold, windy and unpredictable conditions with one eye on the approaching April showers and one interruption due to rain. However, since my aim is to convey freshness and spontaneity in capturing the mood of the moment, I persevered.
