This drawing is made with oil pastel. The trees I have sampled are oak. The fluid nature of the branches is what drove me to focus on these naked limbs, and how they both avert and attract one another simultaneously. From a distance, forests may seem to be filled with an innumerable amount of copies, but the sinew of the branches tell a different story.
