I have been inspired and moved by the virtuoso and highly individual musical performances of John Ogdon for many years, celebrating his connection to my home town of Manchester U.K. and respecting his huge contribution to classical music. Utilizing bright and vibrant colours, I have hoped to capture his generous and kind personality and the emotional power of his piano playing, the sombre and dark background serving as a reminder of his troubled life and his struggle with mental health.
