This is an abstract painting inspired by the urban environment. I love the textures, colours and shapes that can be found in our everyday spaces. They can often be marks made by chance - scrapes or cracks, or by human hands for functional purposes, but I try to piece them together in a way that is evocative and beautiful. This particular piece was inspired by the hastily handwritten sign for a car park in central Manchester, which I used to walk past every day when I lived there.
