Title: Light the Way.....

This is one of a series of images made in late Summer on a rainy day at the far end of the Waternish Peninsula of the Isle of Skye. This part of our small island is very remote, you reach it after driving down bumpy one track roads and past some small croft houses until even those become few and far between. The peninsula overlooks a small bay of water towards Dunvegan and at the far end are the remains of an ancient churchyard with graves dating back hundreds of years. The day was soft and overcast with a mist of rain falling, no sound other than the birds. As the sun broke through the hills on the far side of the bay were lit up and shimmering in the rain filled air.

This works well with In and Out of Time as a Diptych.

About My Work
I believe in giving my clients beautiful artwork on luxury papers that hold their colours for a lifetime! For these special prints of my work I use dreamy, light textured Canson Canvas and the highest quality inks. I do all my own printing, having spent years learning this skill I prefer to maintain control of the colour representation at all stages to ensure you get a truly handmade image.

About My Materials
People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI, their paper was used by Voltaire and Napoleon and the Montgolfier brothers used Canson paper to make the first hot air balloon. Canson paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Chagal, Miro and many other artists. They have been making paper and canvas for photography since this art began over 150 years ago. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.

A Note on Canvases
Canvases are unframed and unmounted, they need to be stretched or framed once you get them. They are matte varnished and come with 2 inch (5cm) white border for the sides of the frame. Once ready, they are carefully wrapped in acid free tissue then shipped in a sturdy art tube to ensure safe delivery.
