This linocut print explores a journey I took around the surroundings of Hestercombe House in Somerset. I set off on my bicycle and recorded my journey via GPS (The Red Line), sketching scenes and photographing areas of interest. Back in the studio I brought all these images together into one image, forming a whole of the journey, made up with those elements that stood out, drawn and juxtaposed next to other objects seen.
The idea explores how we remember a journey; those parts of a journey remembered. This print explores how memory picks out particular elements and contributes the way in which our mind remembers an event.
Two edition print.
