Original artwork description:

“ Peacocks spread their feathers…
and boys whistle like nightingales…
Sayat sang about the love of Majnun and praised the beauty of Leyla!”
(Sergey Parajanov “ Sayat Nova” (“The Pomegranate Colour”)).
A bright and clear image of a white bird are revealed through the kaleidoscope of colorful
fragments. Symbols of hope, purity, and faith in one’s own ideals. Tragic history of love. Of awe.
Of passion. Of liberation or, conversely, obsession and lust.
Typically, Parajanov is subtle and artistic, but at the same time intimately interprets fairy tales,
myths, and symbols of the Orient, permeated by the spirit of folk mythicism. These ideas call to
me as an artist.
