This cave lies at the foot of Scotland on the shores of the Machars peninsula, and is a spiritual pilgrimage site both of the past and present for Christians, being an alleged resting place of Scotland's first Christian, St. Ninian. I was very interested in exploring the idea of inner and outer worlds in this work, the landscape as a metaphor of the human condition.
