This Oil Pastel drawing was done “en plein air“ at sunrise from our hotel balcony and was inspired by a walk beside the lake with my wife the day before. As we were walking the weather was hot and sunny but then suddenly a fog bank came in and covered the mountains, after this we could see the fog creeping across the surface of the lake. It was a very beautiful thing to see and experience the wispy fog dancing on the water’s surface and no photos I took could do it justice. At the time I really wished I had my art equipment to try to capture the scenes, but I didn’t have any with me so I just soaked in the experience and sights as we went. The following morning when I woke at sunrise to draw the lake the fogbank was doing the same thing as the day before and I got my wish to be able to draw it creeping across the lake surface! From my elevated viewpoint the fog seemed to be moving in waves over the water, it was very special. It’s also a lot more difficult to capture mist and fog than it seems! The constant movement makes it a tricky subject! This picture was started at sunrise and I added to it in the late afternoon when we returned from our day out and the weather was still very foggy.

Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
