An original painting, worked from a watercolour sketch I did in the Summer. The flush of yellow flowers by the side of the Thames contrasting beautifully with the blue reflections of the Summer's sky in the water, led me to paint this.
Painted using acrylic paints, using much layering of paint and glazes to build up texture in the water reflections, undergrowth and sky. I also used a palette knife, particularly in the foreground where there are a few 'impasto' painted flowers and grasses too.
