An overgrown pathway, shadowed by trees leads to a locked gate. Through the gate can be glimpsed a bright scene illuminated by sunshine. The gate however is firmly locked. The scene based on a walled garden in Dumfires and Galloway, also refers to the wonderful book by Frances Hodgson Burnett - "The Secret Garden" which has given many people into a great interest in the idea of the locked, hidden, walled garden. This etching is a product of such an interest.

Materials used:

copper plate, etching ink combining prussian blue and black, Fabriano paper
