One of my recent additions to the popular 'Cats Eyes' series of wildlife portrait paintings.
I like painting eyes and the expression they give - especially with wildlife.
This painting is painted on smooth hide using special leather acrylic paints. It is box-framed and strung for wall hanging although the use of mirror plates is recommended.
The use of leather in my artwork is almost unique to me. What I like is the finish that can be appreciated more than normal 'precious' oil, acrylic & watercolour art - this can be touched and handled. I have developed a process that enables me to produce original tactile art - my portfolio also includes painting on leather jackets and leather fashion accessories for the UK fashion industry.
Special acrylic paints on lightly textured pale brown leather.
