This is a large reduction linocut with 6 colors, reduction means that as I print the colors and sculpt the plate, I cut away the lino as I go along, leaving a lino plate I can't print more from, so there are only 2 prints in this color combination! Reduction lino is quite a difficult process as you have to register, that is, line up the plate and paper every single time you print, and with 6 colors, this amounts to a lot of patience and a lot of runs throug the press! I love this technique, my favorite as it is such fun to develop the print, sculpting with the knife and painting with the roller!
All my linocuts are handprinted by me, the artist, and I sign, title and number each print.
If you would like to see some Youtube films with me printmaking, and you can see me make a reduction print, look at and search under my name for a whole gang of printmaking films, or have a look in the "me at work section here in my shop"
SIZE: The linocut itself measures 24" x 12", (60cm x 30cm )
and the beautiful piece of warm white paper measures 26" x 15",(66cm x 38cm)
I only have 2 prints with the mustard yellow and petroleum blue, and you might not receive the number in the photograph. All in all I printed 12 prints in different color combinations.
Linocuts are wonderful graphic pieces of printmaking, that can make for a real focal point in your room, you are so welcome to ask me about framing advice etc.
SHIPPING: I'll mail "Big Blue" to you protected by tissuepaper and a plastic sleeve so it arrives safely, see my reviews. My prints come with a flier (see thumbnail) explaining what a linocut is, and who I am as an artist.
If you have any questions just get in touch..... that's what I am here for!
