I saw this woman on a BBC documentary in 2020 "Enslaved", which pieces together the untold story of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, a global business that thrived for centuries.
Her face was fierce and I couldn't help but paint her as part of my gold leaf/acrylic and graphite collection.
