Artist's description:

This is an outdoor painting created in the peaceful village of Collamato in the hills around Fabriano, Le Marché, Italy. The town of Fabriano, itself, is famous for watercolour paper and so “A Small Corner of Collamato” has the added interest of being painted on locally produced 300g Fabriano watercolour paper!
I was attracted to this subject by the subtle colours of the old walls and the interesting composition of the windows and doors from different periods. Collamato is a very quiet place and I love the Italian-ness of it – the terracotta pots on the window sills, lone cats crossing the street, three-wheeled Fiat pickups parked seemingly abandoned in old, wobbly streets. And as I paint there, I can absorb the peacefulness of the place on its lofty perch above the valley, the warm wind whistling through the main courtyard and the narrow streets and stone corridors that run off it. Quaint! I´m looking forward to my next trip to paint more in this village which is truly a jewel for artists and photographers.

This painting is one of a series of Italian paintings of the lesser known Le Marché region. It is sold mounted and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
