Artist's description:

There was a "For Sale" sign at the gate and I would have loved to buy this cottage known as "Galleon Cottage" in a little hamlet of Tote on the Isle of Skye. However, it was beyond my means so I just painted it instead.
It was difficult to paint outdoors because it rained a lot - as it usually does on the Isle of Skye - but the rain stayed off long enough to let me finish this small painting. I used warm colours to create the sense of cosiness that this old highland croft evokes and the dampness in the air kept the paper moist and softened any hard edges. So - there you have it - cosy little Galleon Cottage nestling in the heather...
