Like the Dance of the Seven Veils, this painting tells us a story. We can only guess what it is. The heavy dark blue rectangle is in lyrical contrast to the orange arc. Five scattered objects seem to float carelessly at the bottom edge of the picture. The shapes differ enormously in character, but their relationships to one another are of great importance. If you took one away, the compositional structure would collapse. The balance is so pleasing to the eye that you no longer want to look away. It invites you to let your thoughts run free and let your imagination do the rest.
