"Through The Poppy Field, 2015" by Charlotte Anna Reed HAPPY ART

“A great amount of love, ink, oil and acrylic paint was used to create this abstract poppy piece. This piece was painted in the heart of Hampshire with the honourable serviceman & women who have fought for our country on my mind.”

"Tangled Up In Blue, 2015" by Peter Williams

"'Tangled Up In Blue' is the third in a 'Beach Life' series and depicts a scene which could be found anywhere along the Suffolk coastline. An inquisitive young cat investigates a tangled mass of ropes, floats and other discarded paraphernalia. The different textures and intricate details of all of the elements in this scene form an interesting composition with plenty to keep the eye occupied before settling on the soft furred kitten."

"Transitions (Wood Relief), 2015" by Liam Hennessy

"With this work I wanted to create a field of pure colour, built up in layers of varying tonal intensity with subtle gradations giving way to warm accents of orange. I was interested in exploring ideas of permutation and sequence in this piece and the relationship between individual elements within a series. The painting is strongly influenced by 20th century abstraction."

"Lover's Eye #3, 2015" by Lucy Pass

"Portrait miniatures mounted as brooches, pendants, or lockets were popular items of jewellery during the 18th century. Towards the end of the century, an unusual variation became fashionable - miniature portraits of the eye of a loved one: The Lovers Eye."

"Moorland, 2015" by Colette Baumback

“I love the tones of the moorland landscape: the purple heathers and dried grasses and the dramatic scenery of the moors set against a big sky.”

"Blackhorse Road, 2015" by Rebecca Coleman

“The tunnels of the London Underground have long provided me with a fascinating and captivating subject matter. I love the lines, the shapes and the colours - which I feel are particularly striking from a rat's eye's perspective. This image is of Blackhorse Road station on the Victoria line, with its rather dark atmosphere and the distinctive motif of Hans Unger's black horse. I feel the horse's simplistic black design is enchantingly set against the light blue tiling. The low perspective and unsettling angle I chose for this piece is intended to draw you right into the tunnel.”

"Reality Exposed, 2015" by Chantal Barlow

“I loved using this technique to expose a second gold painting underneath the rich, aquatic blues on the surface. This painting is striking in any orientation and has a lot of detail to draw the eye. There is much to explore in Reality Exposed.”

"Tahitian Convicts in the Jungle #2, 2015" by Andrea Hamann

“This painting is the second of a series of paintings exploring the ''Tahitian Convicts in the jungle'' thematic. The series brings together an abstract idea of a tropical jungle with characters inspired by the Pitcairn, Mutineer and Tahitian ancestry of the Pitcairn people on Norfolk Island, and of the convict history on the island, inspired by local vegetation, the costume of colonials during convict times, and the body decoration of pacific islander peoples. The series is also inspired by my own personal history, including childhood memories of living in Papua New Guinea and travel to India and other tropical places.”

"El mejor del mundo, 2015" by Robert van Bolderick

“This piece is a mixed media painting made of old newspaper, notepaper and sheet music. Most of them were found in country houses from the 1920s to 1940s. Some are newer and I have collected them over the years when I traveled. I build the image with pieces of clippings like that they are scattered over the canvas.”

"Treetops and shadows, 2015" by Maja Grecic

“I used to live in Grocka, suburbs of Belgrade, by Danube river. Its banks were decorated with vineyards, peach, apple and apricot orchards that changed colours as the seasons changed. They fascinated me over and over again, and I just wanted to paint them with rich juicy colours and contrasted tones.”
