"Red Berries, 2005" by D. P. Cooper

"I sometimes like isolating the subject of my wildlife paintings against a blank background to accentuate the detail and beauty of the animal without distraction. Like most people, I find small furry mammals cute and they always catch my eye!" David's work will be on show at HIVE Festival 2015 from 21st - 22nd November.

"Waratah's dreams, 2015" by Olena Kosenko

"This painting continues my new series of paintings inspired by Japanese origami art. I am fascinated with geometry of natural form. I like the play of light and shadows in each crease of folded paper. It's like a poetry, one word relates to another, has a meaning and, at the end, tells a complete story..." Olena'swork will be on show at HIVE Festival 2015 from 21st - 22nd November.

"'Perfection', 2014" by Diana Marshall

“I saw these lovely roses displayed in a florist's window and was immediately drawn to their gorgeous blooms. They were so perfect, the petals so soft and velvety, the heads supported by strong stems, with their dark green leaves a perfect foil for the lush tones of the roses. It was a labour of love to capture their varied tones and colours and to convey their velvety texture.” Diana's work will be on show at HIVE Festival 2015 from 21st - 22nd November.

"Roman Forum, First Light, 2015" by Alan Reed

“I rose just after 5am to paint a small watercolour in my sketchbook to capture the first rays of sunlight catching the ancient columns of the temple ruins. Even though you can't go inside the Roman Forum at this time in the morning, it's possibly the best time of the day to see this historic site as there are no crowds to battle past and there is a distinct peace and calmness to the city. The early morning light brings a golden hue to the architectural ruins.” Alan's work will be on show at HIVE Festival 2015 from 21st - 22nd November.

"Seascape - Deep Sea, 2015" by Vera Blagev

“I love nature and its ability to transform us. I particularly enjoy watching water - seas, oceans, lakes and their calming, soothing nature. It reminds us of our place in the world, of our dependence on nature and water to survive. With these Seascape paintings, I really wanted to showcase the variety of movement, textures, and effects that I could create using just a limited colour palette.”

"Still life with lemons and bowl, 2015" by Damien Venditti

"Lemons are often a symbol of friendship in art, where the cut lemon can denote friendship turned sour, this painting denotes the special friendship that will remain strong. From my lemon tree, to the canvas, this still life is painted wet on wet in an mild impasto style."
