"Alpine Farm, 2017" by JC Spock

“A worn barn amidst a field of summer wildflowers in the shadow of a mountain range; this is Colorado. This piece blends authentic vintage ephemera, acrylic paints and my photography of this scene in Crested Butte, CO, my favorite place in all of Colorado (or anywhere else for that matter!). Several layers of paint and paper gives a local and historical perspective to this piece and a modern twist to this beautiful landscape.”

"Colossal Polka Daubs, 2017" by Ann Marie Coolick

“This piece is a heavily textured painting from my Polka Daubs series. It was created using only palette knives and heavily textured oil paint. The dot positions were planned out with a grid and each color was selected and painted intuitively in small batches.”

"Still Life: The Yellow Vase, 2017" by Stephen Conroy

“A still life of a yellow vase and flowers surrounded by various fruit. I created this piece using a paper cutout technique, in which I cut out and shape colour on a deep edged stretched canvas. Inspired in part by cubism, the artwork is vibrant, full of intense colour and exquisite detail.”

"The urn and the mantle" by Douglas Adam Karson

“On the day when the earth shook, the ashes tumbled and fell. What was once a body, now dust, floating in the air. This work came in a moment of clarity and is the first time I have ever combined text and painting.”

"It's time to leave" by Carlo Salomoni

“With the Ship of Dreams, you can go anywhere. Behind everything, to everywhere, you can meet who you have always longed to meet, and when you look around you, you see with the eyes of a child.”

"Land Cruisers, 2017" by Brian Nash

“I'm a child of New England in the 60's. I grew up in Boston, and spent my summers at my grandfather's house on Cape Cod or on my dad's boat on Nantucket. I have such fond memories of that era, and I love the aesthetic and innocence of the 60's. I tend to paint imagines from my memory, which give my paintings a somewhat nostalgic feeling, while also being very modern.”

"Fairytale, 2017" by Zhanna Kondratenko

“This piece captures that time, just one moment from the end of a good day. It captures the brightness, the fairytale happiness of the day.”

"Evening roses, 2017" by Georgina Bouzyk

“This painting was inspired by the dappled evening light casting shadows and colours between the leaves and petals of the roses. Painted in June, the roses were at their peak of vibrancy and intensity. This painting captures the feeling and atmosphere of the romantic flowers, where the composition invites the viewer to explore and study the variety of lines and colours.”

"Reveal, 2014" by VividlyPainting

“This bright, gestural oil painting reveals my fascination with emotional states, with the help of unwitting accomplices captured from the TV screen. Subtle in scale: a whisper in the ear rather than a shout across the room, their textured surfaces contain intriguing hints of the depths of emotion below.”

"Old Harry Rocks I, 2017" by Richard Allen

“I composed this painting of Old Harry's Rocks to exclude the sky and focus on the churning waves, the muscular rock formations and the dramatic cast of light. The brushstrokes are gestural, almost calligraphic, sculpting the forms and emphasizing the painting process.”
