"Rivage Sauvage (Wild Riverbank) | 3 pcs, 2017" by Daniela Schweinsberg

“'Rivage Sauvage' is a large artwork with astonishing colours - blue, green in different shades, white, grey and rose. It tells a story of water and sky, a river that flows strong through a wild landscape, nature and plants. 'Rivage Sauvage' is vibrant and full of life, with my own artistic gesture and a strong, dynamic expression.”

"Multiplex Environment #1, 2017" by Derek Sim Designs

“This artwork is the third in collection of images inspired by Eden Court Theatre, situated in Inverness, I am fascinated with this contemporary piece of architecture. It is the visual elements of colour, pattern and line which truly excites the me and it is from this connection I created this piece. I have very much enjoyed working with two small images and joining them together like a jigsaw in order to create this 3D optical illusion this has encourage me to continue working on a larger scale. The concept of removing sections of the artwork with a cutting knife added a completely new dimension to these pieces and has opened my imagination to new worlds of endless possibilities.”

"Bait Ball 2, 2016" by Jacqueline Talbot

“This is the third of my paintings inspired by the natural phenomenon of the bait ball. Small fish swarm together in a defensive measure and create a dazzling shimmering effect. I tried to emphasise the feeling of looking right through the bait ball and the sunlight breaking through the surface of the water and reflecting off of the little silvery fish. The oval canvas really emphasises the natural shape of the bait ball and acted as a guide for me while I painted it to get a smooth ovoid shape.”

"LINOCUT PRINT- printmaker, 2017" by MARISA LIUZZI

“There are phrases that best describe a technique, a process. And this is the case! "Printmaking like sex is not just a reproduction" is a common phrase between engravers and printers, its author is unknown but it is such a brilliant and fun summary of everything behind the printing process that I could not avoid giving my interpretation by graving every component of the print and composing it inspired by typographic techniques.”

“This work is part of series of eleven portraits called "Fluctuations of the Soul", These are impressions that stuck with me after encounters with people. I believe we are surrounded by our energy field, this holds and communicates the essence of our being and even current emotional, physical and mental state.”

"Sunrise delights over a blue sea ..., 2017" by Niki Purcell

“'Sunrise delights' is a painting inspired by the spectacular sunrises out to sea that I have the honour to witness from my home on a cliff top on the east coast of Ireland...that is when I am up early enough to see it! The whole sky seems to be ablaze with light bouncing off the clouds and dancing on the sea...”

"She looks like a bush full of butterflies" by Daniela Schweinsberg

“This is one of my larger pieces in an abstract expressionist style. Shades of green with accents of grey, pink and cream tell of nature, for that was the main inspiration for this piece. During the last hot days of summer, it was humid in my studio and the best place to be was the shady courtyard. There everything was in full bloom, lush green the dominant colour.”

"Sunshine and Splendour, 2017" by Andrew Alan Johnson

“This unique impressionist-style creation uses the texture of thick acrylic, married with the fluid versatility of watercolours. Inspired by life and energy of the happy sunflower, this art is packed full with joy, colour and uplifting energy.”

"La vie est belle, 2017" by James Earley

“This is an oil painting of a mother and daughter that I met in Nice just days after the terrorist attack in 2016. The atmosphere seemed extremely volatile and, for me it reached a crescendo at the point when I first saw these two figures surrounded by contradictions. You can see slogans on the expensive shop windows claiming "life is beautiful".”

"Imaginando, 2017" by Isabel Robledo

“Think. Open your mind and all your dreams will be real. I live in a beautiful village next to Salamanca, close to where golden stone is extracted from the monuments in Salamanca. Every year there is an exhibition of sculptors from around the world, showing the special quality of the stone: robust, sturdy, but pliable and ornamental This is my tribute to the stone and every artist who thrives on creating.”
