    I've just added this "Woman bedecked with gold" to my shop here on Artfinder. This one, like other large pastels on here from this era, were exhibited perhaps once in northwest England, then after an intense few years of full time illustrating (from 1995 through to 2001), followed by a two-year illness, most were unframed in my studio relocation and stored away in my plan-chest since then! These days, between painting and occasionally illustrating, I am slowly photographing this body of work to make available online.

    Imagining a bright landscape

    It's the end of June & so far this summer it's been rain, rain, rain - so it's a perfect day to keep working on my vividly coloured painting of two trees, one full of bright light.

    Dancing with an imaginary man #4

    I love painting this theme - a woman in a man's arms and I love painting outside in the bright sun, listening to the birds, accompanied by my cat. Peaceful and productive.

    Finishing touches being added... autumn 2015

    Here I am adding the finishing touches to the woman's face, above the gold acrylic of her robe. When the pastel drawing is almost finished, sprayed with colourless fixative, I then add a final skim of colour here and there which sits on the 'tooth of the paper.

    I rarely mix acrylics and pastel but here is a layer of gold acrylic being applied onto a pastel drawing. The finished piece is called Flower Clouds (2015) and I've just listed it on here.

    Adding the gold to a new Khadi paper image called 'I looked across a golden field' - I wanted to paint something positive and hopeful on this 22 March 2016, so her hands are clasped in hope and prayer.
