Original artwork description:

Inspired by a scene I took while going home from a long day of skiing in Slovene Alps. I especially loved the evening colors and wanted to emphasize them in the painting.


Painted on acid-free sanded pastel paper with professional quality pastels, ensuring the painting stays the same for many decades.

I use Pastelmat paper. Pastelmat is a very firm paper, weighting 360g per square meter (normal pastel paper is around 60-160g per square meter). Because of its fine sanded surface the pastels sink in the paper, ensuring the color is fixed very well and does not smudge nearly as much as on regular pastel papers. The paper is acid free, which additionally prevents the colors from fading over time.
