This is a multi layered drypoint etching combined with collograph. I have built up the layers and soaked the paper each time it was passed through the printing press. The inspiration for this print was a beautiful patch of wild flowers growing on the edge of the coastal path, near Marazion in Cornwall. The printing plate was made of plastic and I have etched into it with my lino cutting tools and also a scalpel. The lino tools make a deep etch into the plastic which fills with a deep level of ink. To get the image to print well requires a lot of pressure on the press and my arms!
