I painted this picture in winter in February, when there was a lot of white snow outside the window, blue sky and the first rays of the sun after a long darkness. There is no sun at all in St. Petersburg for several months. And the bright rays of the sun mean that spring is coming very soon.
These swans are about the arrival of spring, love, the awakening of nature, about white snow and crystal purity.
