Whispers of Light refracted through a sunlit canopy. Leaves rustle as I walk down the avenue. I breathe deep and feel the days care recede. I feel lighter in this place where golden sunbeams dance through tranquil trees.
Whispers of light is an impressionist interpretation of a beautiful evening sun seen through an avenue of trees. The light is refracted into a myriad colours of red, orange, blue and violet tones. Rich, vibrant shades inspired by the palette of Van Gogh and Gaugin fill the canvas. Painted with short strokes of multiple layers of oil colour the painting exudes a peaceful quality. Created in a semi abstract style, Whispers of Light is completed by using dense dark colours against vibrant white to create the light that permeates the painting.
