Artist's description:

A fabulously sunny November day, late in the afternoon. That leafy, damp and earthy aroma abundant everywhere. The sun was starting to go down in the western sky with Wharncliffe crags to the east; perfect silhouette weather!

And suddenly, there it was, a huge pylon striding out towards Wharncliffe crags. The sun was behind the glass insulators, charging them with some kind of Godly illumination. My eyes transfixed on this man-made monstrosity. The autumn gold silver birch dwarfed below it looked like a low hurdle to this metallic striding beast.

I thought about how I could capture and do justice to this semi-scary composition. I just wanted to capture the glass, the metallic lattice and the blue sky. I had no doubt that the result was going to be in monochrome with a darkened/burned sky. After some personal deliberation and a bit of walking the scene, I decided to opt for the low down, upward shot, which is what you see here, I hope you love this picture as much as I do; I feel as if I have injected some life into the structure of the pylon. I invite you to use your own judgement as you work through the image.

As always, I am only offering a print run of 10, each print accompanied by a signed and coded certificate of authenticity

Kindest regards
Mark Lupton
