Original artwork description:

This painting was created in September 1992 exploring the idea of the three graces but not from the usual aspect of creating three pleasing women who served Aphrodite. Here the painting explores an idea delving into the internal thinking of the souls of the three people - thinking about what they may have been thinking as servants of a Goddess.
The three meld into one form, whilst retaining three faces intrinsically linked to one another. The painting explores expressionist values, something I was becoming increasing influenced by at the time and as my painting developed in these early years it evolved into the more expressionist way of painting. Through the influences of Francis Bacon, Frank Auerbach and Lucien Freud, who at the time were not really being followed, generally, their influences are evident within my work at this time.
The strong colour layered by card, pallet knife and brush; the bold use of black, red, yellow and pink became something expressing an internal feeling garnered from the era of events happening through these years.

As you can see the painting is worn around the edges due to its nature, although overall it is in great shape and the signs of entropy add an authenticity to its age of 24 years.

I can touch up the painting to fix these areas if required.

Materials used:
