Artist's description:

When ever we think of eternity as a concept, the imagery of the phoenix comes to life. the mythical bird of legends and lore which is born of its own death. when it is about to die, it burns itself up on a pyre which it creates of its own nest and from those ashes rise the new invigorated new phoenix. This mythical bird always symbolized the cycle of destruction and resurrection. An eternal cycle which governs everything in this universe. My artwork depicts this mythical bird in a more human form, as if I am trying to personify the bird and identify my human emotions with it. the artwork is a detailed pen drawing done with waterproof ink on paper which has been treated to a watercolor wash to create color and texture.
