Original artwork description:

Water - Water nurtures life and as one of the five elements it represents the principle of fluidity. Water is guided by movement, from high to low and is constantly changing in form. It can appear as solid ice or gaseous vapor. It teaches us that life is a constant cycle and is ever-changing. In nature water can be as gentle as a breezy shower of rain that nourishes gardens, forests, and fields or it can be a forceful turbulent sea or a speeding river breaking hard rock to sand. Water as an element has both tender and powerful qualities. Our adult bodies consist of 60% water. We have been able to harness the power of water to generate electricity. But as we get greedier and more careless, we are polluting the water bodies all over the world. We are destroying marine life; we are poisoning the water in our rivers, lakes and seas. We are drinking bottled water and trashing the environment. We seem to be living in a bubble of ignorance and apathy and soon that bubble will burst leaving us swimming in our own waste.

This series has been inspired by the 5 elements of life which form everything inside and around us and how greed and progress is destroying the balance between these elements and hence the balance between survival and extinction, life and death.

This artwork is a part of a group of 5 drawings on the theme of the 5 elements. You might want to buy this drawing as a single piece but it does create a more wholesome effect when displayed with the other 4 drawings. I will suggest that you collect all five artworks and display them together. They will surely grab a lot of attention and spark conversation. You will cherish owning them and the experience they create for you.
