A painting based on an imaginary parable. Why? Because it allows the collision of two ways of thinking.
The idea of the parable is essentially a 'serious' concept, as well as it having biblical associations. And I enjoy the process of taking a 'serious' idea, and then turning it on it's head by linking it with something ostensibly frivolous...
But as ever, doubts can creep in... and maybe somewhere, lost in history, there really IS a 'Parable Of The Red Shoes'...?
Acrylic, ink, graphite, and pastel.
