A quirky art sculpture, La poule pondeuse qui n'arrivait pas à pondre (The laying hen who couldn't lay) is a very special, unique and wacky hen, with her charming air of a discouraged laying hen who can't lay, her blue eyes, and her little dungarees with suspenders...
She's part of the CalbinoOz series of wooden sculptures made from natural gourds grown in the south of France.
A fairly light sculpture, the calabashes have been emptied of their contents, seeds and skins, so that they can be exported without fear of health risks worldwide. To make it even heavier, the calabash has been filled with red clay balls.
Unique piece signed on the back.
Material: surfine wood cellulose, dried calabash wood, acrylic paint, protective varnish.
Dimensions approx. D 18 x H 20 cm
calabash wood, surfine wood cellulose, blown glass
